Prequel to Forgotten Worlds.

Originating in the arcades, Side Arms is a horizontally scrolling shoot ‘em up in which you control Lieutenant Henry (a second player can control Sergeant Sanders in some versions), armed with crude weaponry and protective jump-suits. They must save the earth from the mercenary invaders of Bozon. You must first reach Bozon’s territories, then wipe out its forces hidden in caverns and lurking in underground seas, before destroying the main invasion ship. Lots of extra weapons can be picked up, often with similar tokens to those in 1943 and some other Capcom titles. Most weapons can be shot either to the left or the right, giving you more range to launch attacks.

Description from the packaging (US version):

It's the 21st century, and somewhere between the stars and Earth a battle rages.
Streaking across the sky, the stars themselves are clashing with bizarre creatures from deep space who have Earth as their ultimate target. Massive alien hordes are descending to invade your home base.

If you can meet the challenge, you will command the brightest stars Alpha and Beta in a space race like none before. You must intercept the aliens and shoot first... or forget about later.
Your star force sweeps the heavens loaded with secret advanced weaponry and protective armor. Snake-like creatures flash out from nowhere. Computer guided explosives are on your trail, destroy them or you're history.

Team up with Alpha and Beta for maximum firepower with rapid artillery that can shoot in six directions. Be a star challenger in this colossal and demanding space epic.
